Girl Scout

The original photo on Sepia Saturday was a photo of a girl with a doll. I didn't have anything like that, but I do have this!  Pretty sure she's not a Guide or a Brownie, but I could be wrong!

Preston sweethearts

I know it's unusual to see a man on this blog, but I couldn't resist this picture- I think they are a gorgeous couple and this photo was taken in Preston, Lancashire where I went to university. I always wonder what happened to these war-time couples after the war ended; I like to think he took a copy of this with him  to the front.

Christmas 1970

This is dated a bit later than my usual photos, but my friend Zoe told me that her mum took it when she worked in the  Royal Alexandria hospital in Brighton. The nurse has the wonderful, Roald Dahl-esque name of Nurse Honey. I couldn't resist!

Landgirls, 1944

My friend Lucy recently sent me some scans of family photos- this one is one of my favourites. Apparently the gentlemen are Mr Vinter and Jack Showers.

School trip, 1928

I think this is the same Catholic school from the picture with the nuns.

Military Ladies

I thought this was a good picture for Remembrance Day- I'm not sure where they're graduating from.  If you know, please let me know in the comments so I can label accordingly.

Nurses

This picture is pretty hard to date; I'm guessing 40s/50s, but I could be wrong!
