A grand old dame

This lady looks like she is modelling herself on Queen Victoria- and look at that tiny waist! Corsets had a lot to answer for!

Mother and child

According to the back of this photo, it was taken at Killick and Abbott "Ivory miniature and portrait painters' at their Rosslyn Hill Studio, Hampstead. I love the detail in the fabric of the mother's skirt.

Elizabeth Purcell, born 1865

I'm tempted to do a bit of research on this lady. So far, I've found someone with the same name and  year of birth in Canada. This photo was taken in London.

A strange Victorian photograph

This is definitely a Victorian photo, but lots about it puzzle me... who is the girl? Why is she in two photos? What is the necklace? Also, it's a very thin material stuck onto some old cardboard- it doesn't feel like a normal photo. Any suggestions/ideas/answers are welcome!
